Government guidance stipulates that apprenticeships require substantial and sustained training, 20% of which must be off the job. These include activities outside of the normal day-to-day working environment, but do not have to happen away from the workplace.
‘Off the job’ learning activities don’t have to be separate from current business activities and can still support the daily work effort.
