20% Off The Job

Government guidance stipulates that apprenticeships require substantial and sustained training, 20% of which must be off the job. These include activities outside of the normal day-to-day working environment, but do not have to happen away from the workplace.

‘Off the job’ learning activities don’t have to be separate from current business activities and can still support the daily work effort.

By allowing your employee the time to develop their vocational skills, knowledge and behaviours aside from their regular daily work activity, you will help to develop them as a more versatile, motivated, loyal and productive employee in turn they can support your organisation now and for years to come, with a clear return on time invested.

Activities to achieve the 20% may include:

  • Writing assessments
  • Simulation
  • Self-Study
  • Shadowing colleagues
  • Coaching
  • Webinars
  • Lectures/Workshops
  • Online Learning
  • In-house Training
  • Mentoring
  • Role play exercises
  • Industry visits
  • Product/Training Manufacturer
