Supporting Success in Early Years Education: A Hawk Training Case Study
At Hawk Training, we take pride in supporting our learners not just to achieve qualifications, but to grow in confidence and capability. Our learner Jack, who recently completed the Level 3 Early Years Educator Standard and Diploma, kindly shared his reflections on the experience.
“When I first started out with my Level 3, I was incredibly intimidated”, Jack told us. “I am not a confident person, and I struggle with new challenges and meeting new people. I started this qualification unsure if I would be able to complete it”.
Despite his initial doubts, Jack embraced the journey with determination. He described the programme as exceptional and found that the structure of the course and the resources available played a big part in helping him succeed. “The user experience for accessing and learning the information is intuitive and easy, and the assignments, while challenging, were well constructed and engaging”, he said. “Through all of this, I have definitely come out the other side a more knowledgeable, capable and confident in my role and as an individual”.
But for Jack, the most transformative part of the experience was the support he received from his tutor, Gabriella Parr. He praised not just her teaching, but her genuine care and encouragement throughout the qualification. “She truly is an asset to the company. From the very start, Gabriella has gone out of her way for me. Not just with providing an exceptional learning experience, but also her ongoing care for my well-being and development”.
For Gabriella, the experience of supporting Jack was just as rewarding. “From the beginning, Jack showed a quiet determination that steadily grew into a strong sense of self-belief” she said. “He approached each challenge with resilience, even when he doubted himself. His openness to learning, perseverance and his genuine commitment to the Early Years sector truly stood out throughout the programme”.
Jack’s hard work paid off when he completed the qualification with a distinction—something he described as “a lovely shock”. Reflecting on how far he’s come, he shared, “I’ve got a level of confidence now that I’ve never had before. I’m so grateful to Gabriella and the Hawk team for helping me to achieve this”.
Gabriella shared her own reflections on his journey: “I’m so proud of everything Jack has achieved, especially his well-deserved distinction. To see him now speak with such confidence and pride in his development is the most rewarding part of my role as a tutor”. She continued, “Jack’s journey is a shining example of what’s possible with dedication, the right support, and belief in yourself. It’s been such a pleasure to be part of it, and I have no doubt he’s going to do great things in his career”.
Congratulations again, Jack—your success is well earned, and we have no doubt you’ll continue to make a positive impact in your career. It’s been a pleasure to be part of your journey.
